During the pandemic in 2020, Ryan experienced fishing for Arctic Char, on the world-famous Tree River in Nunavut, during a Special NWT Residents only Staycation Opportunity. Growing up in Southern Ontario, he learned how to fish chasing migratory trout and salmon, along the tributaries of Lake Ontario. Arctic Char, are the most prestigious of all migratory fish and in this episode, he sets out with a good friend, on a last-minute overnight fly-in, self-Guided back pack fishing adventure, in search of the holy grail of Char, while surviving a night on the barren lands in the pouring rain in a tiny little tent, with the bears!
